The band on intersection pon(s)dering, The Myrtle Mule and multiple tri-state area shows
!TGIF! DO THE DAMN THING WITH PONS
Yesterday, we premiered the music video for Pons’ “HUNGAHUNGA,” the visual accompaniment to the sixth track on the band’s rad new EP The Pons Estate and a piece of work that we oh-so-eloquently described as “a chaotic collage that fuses an NYC night out with Mad Max desert vibes meets maybe The Hangover with a dash of disconcerting dental documentary, some Blair Witch-style cinematography and a few surprisingly scenic splashes of very nice nature. Set to a strobe light. On acid. Plus maybe some meth?!”
Or, in the words of the band: “A man crumbles under the weight of his evil temptations.”
BEEN THERE, AMIRIGHT?! And because there’s no more appropriate time than the weekend to embrace your worst influences and succumb to your worst impulses, we’re stoked to share three days’ worth of plans put together by the musical members of the Brooklyn trio themselves. (Who, despite what the on-camera insanity might indicate, are truly a delightful group of humans.)
Kick off your Friday in the most glorious of ways with some streamed tunes from the band this morning, then continue the Pons party LIVE with two shows at two venues in two states in two days.
Your weekend starts now. Here’s hoping it’s notquiiiiiteaseventful as whatever is happening in that music video. (And if it is, please be sure to tell us about it.)

FRIDAY
1. In order to ensure a weekend of both productivity and pleasure, you must start your day with one full listen of the Pons discography. More stimulating than any cup of coffee, your newfound energy will carry you through the trials and tribulations of the days to come.
2. Skip work and spend the entire afternoon standing and thinking by the Myrtle-Broadway station. Anything important that happens in Brooklyn happens on Myrtle-Broadway. Remember that.
3. The Osees & Mr. Elevator show at Warsaw has PONS GOLD STANDARD APPROVAL . For those of us who were late to the ticket draw, don’t fret. Pons is playing a mere two and a half hours away at Helldog House in South Windsor, CT with Them Airs and Pulsr.
SATURDAY
1. It’s officially the weekend. Wake up and watch the new Pons music video for the song “HUNGAHUNGA” several times. Leave a really supportive comment on the video. Cool down with a delicious cold brew at Brooklyn Whiskers.
2. Happy hour at Old Timers. The Myrtle Mule. Speaks for itself.
3. Arpegiator Studios in Greenpoint is one of our favorite DIY spots. VIP treatment. They have shows every weekend and we highly recommend trying to make it to one. Details are on their Instagram page. For the true Pons freaks who just can’t get enough, we continue our weekender with Them Airs at Club Metronome in Burlington, Vermont.
SUNDAY
1. This is a day for rest and penance. You must fast - your only sustenance will be the flavorful sounds of Pons.
2. Enter the murky waters of Coney Island. This will build character and valor and will give you the confidence needed to tackle the drab work week to come. The warm days are numbered and we all need to store up for the long, slow winter.
3. Finish the day with your final weekend dose of Pons. The Pons Estate EP is the perfect soundtrack to score an unforgettable evening. Afterwards, you may finally give yourself to the quiet. Assuming you have followed all of our steps, you’re probably getting a raise at work tomorrow.
Itinerary above written + submitted by Pons. Follow the band at @pons_the_band, buy music on Bandcamp and add their music to your Spotify playlists.
