10.4 A wknd w/ Summer Fling
The band on sandwiches, striking out and their show TONIGHT at Main Drag
First and foremost…
Sorry, had to.
As the OGs Danny and Sandy (spoiler alert!) proved, you don’t have to leave your summer fling behind, and that brings us to this week’s SETLIST stars, NYC band Summer Fling, who are here for your musical entertainment and enjoyment well into fall—and all year long.
Now a word from the band on their new album, Summer Fling Strikes Out, which dropped about a month ago:
“Our debut album Summer Fling Strikes Out is a collection of 7 songs through multiple genres ranging from funk, pop, rock, klezmer and singer songwriter.
The songs are about ‘striking out’ in love and life and the world wind of emotions that can bring! We recorded the song in September of 2023 and released it on Aug 30th 2024.
Songs like ‘To Whom It May Concern,’ ‘Soliloquy’ and ‘Blissful Haze’ deal with the loss/heartbreak element of love. Never Ending dives into that fleeting moments of getting so close to the love/life/high you want. Barefoot Prince of SoHo tells the story of a new money NYC dinner party and our narrator struggles to get adjusted or find any want/love at all. ‘Aim Well (Or Amen)’ deals with that dreadful knowing of how someone feels about you. Whether they like you or not. ‘Lovestruck Junkie’ is self explanatory but tells the story of someone trying to catch a thrill but at what cost.
All these songs were written by Eddie Kam, Evan Macaluso and the entire summer fling band! Huge element of our writing and style are creating songs that are built to be performed! The performance is everything.”
Don’t miss your opp to experience that performance TONIGHT at SANDWICHES, a series of three shows at Main Drag Music—organized by our pals Locations—featuring music and, yes, sandwiches.
Sometimes things really are that literal.
GRAB YOUR TIX FOR TONIGHT HERE, then read on for what to do before/after this evening’s show, and all weekend long, according to Summer Fling.
Hope you have a good goooooood wknd <3
